The Central Savannah River Area Apple Macintosh Users Group's web site has been created using web standard technologies and can be maintained with free tools that are available to everyone. Any CSRA member interested in learning these tools and helping to maintain and grow the club's site should contact the web team at a meeting or by email.

XHTML

W3C.org XHTML Project Page is a reformulation HTML 4 into an extensible XML repesentation. Web designers can extend XHTML by defining new types of markup for web documents. CSS can be used to style the documents, separating content and presentation.

Cascading Style Sheet

W3C.org CSS Project Page (CSS) is a simple mechanism for adding style (e.g. fonts, colors, spacing) to Web documents. Style can be stored in a single file and applied consistently to every page in the site.

PHP

Link to PHP Project Home is a widely-used web programming language that can be intemixed with conventional HTML to dynamically generate the page contents on the server before the requested page is returned to the requesting browser. Often the PHP program is used to interact with a database to generate the response. This database technique is employed in the application, phpBB, that manages our bulletin board.
